Charter Mastery

NauticEd Rank attained upon passing competency evaluation:

Competent Skipper or Competent Bareboat Charter Master*

* Bareboat Charter Master rank requires 50 logged days of sailing. Prior sailing experience can be logged retroactively, and the 7 days from this course count towards the requirement. This requirement makes a sailing resume with this rank immediately acceptable by most bareboat yacht charter companies, unlike many certifications offered by other companies.

Spend the first day of your trip settling into life aboard one of our 38 to 50-foot luxury charter yachts, your home for the upcoming week of instruction. The first part of the course will be spent learning sailing fundamentals, as appropriate to your current skill level. You will then build upon and expand those skills while sailing to premier destinations throughout the British and US Virgin Islands. If you want to feel comfortable while bareboat chartering sailboats with your friends and family, this course will give you the skills and confidence you need to reach your goals. Make your own choice of living and learning accommodations on either a monohull or catamaran.

Your class materials will be delivered to your computer and/or mobile device instantly upon enrolling for the course. Novices without prior sailing experience are typically able to attain NauticEd Skipper Rank, and with additional preparation and attention to course materials, are often able to pass the Bareboat Charter Master competency evaluation by the end of the week. Those with prior sailing experience have an easier time passing this evaluation but still benefit greatly by reviewing all of the class material before the course, especially if they want to make more time for fun and relaxation during the course.
