ABOUT US

Marc started his sailing career as an avid racer, but discovered his love for cruising and instructing when he spent a summer teaching teenagers to sail on liveaboard boats as an ASA Instructor in the BVI in 2007. Since then, he's taken an interest in sailing as a platform for travel and a way to live a simpler life that is more compatible with nature.

In 2015, Marc decided to buy an old boat to fix up and sail down to the Caribbean. He sailed down the east coast of the US and through the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos and Puerto Rico en route to the Virgin Islands. He sailed between the VI and the Grenadines with the seasons and has made it as far south as Grenada.

Marc has taught for several sailing schools in the Caribbean and works for CYOA Yacht Charters as a captain, briefer, and technician. He founded Island Hopper in cooperation with CYOA to offer sail training on the best boats in the charter industry.

Marc is now taking a hiatus from teaching to pursue graduate studies in meteorology at Florida State University.
